The Purchasing Coordinator at Central Tube and Bar plays a key role in managing the procurement of materials, supplies, and services essential to our operations. This role ensures cost-effective purchasing practices, fosters strong supplier relationships, and guarantees a steady inventory supply to meet production demands. The Purchasing Coordinator also collaborates closely with the operations and sales teams to align procurement strategies with company goals.
· Develop and implement purchasing strategies that support production goals and cost-saving initiatives.
· Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and inventory needs to optimize procurement.
· Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers.
· Monitor supplier performance to ensure consistent quality, timely delivery, and cost efficiency.
· Resolve supplier-related issues, including quality concerns, delivery delays, and pricing disputes.
· Collaborate with production and operations teams to forecast material requirements and manage inventory levels.
· Minimize excess inventory and reduce waste while maintaining uninterrupted production flow.
· Oversee purchase order management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
· Track and analyze procurement costs to identify cost-saving opportunities.
· Generate regular reports on purchasing performance, including spending analysis and supplier metrics.
· Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing standards.
· Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier communications.
· 2–3 years of procurement or purchasing experience, ideally within the steel industry.
· Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is highly preferred.
· Proficiency with ERP systems and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms).
· In-depth knowledge of purchasing practices, supply chain management, and inventory control.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
· Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
