About the Role:

The Purchasing Manager will oversee activities relating to the purchase and procurement of materials and equipment used on high voltage electrical substation, transmission, distribution, solar, and battery storage projects.

Responsibilities:

•

Ensure all purchases adhere to all established policies and procedures

•

Manage vendor (distribution and manufacturing) relationships and expectations involved with procuring materials, equipment, and services

•

Prepare, verify, and forward purchase orders

•

Complete analysis of pricing and price comparison for materials and equipment used in projects

•

Collaborate with estimating to keep bids current, accurate, and competitive

•

Provide procurement support to project managers

•

Work with Operations team to ensure suppliers are delivering according to contract

•

Interact with various internal departments to improve current procurement practices and coordinate excellent service to internal customers

•

Create innovative agreements that bring added value to our business

•

Oversee vendor (distribution and manufacturing) relationships and expectations involved with procuring materials, equipment, and services

•

Regular and predictable attendance

•

Other duties as assigned

•

Essential functions of this position are to be performed at a Company-designated office or field location

•

Understand and company with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards

About You:

Qualifications:

•

Solid working knowledge of electric construction materials, equipment, and services used in commercial and industrial projects

•

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

•

Ability to mentor and train colleagues and proven ability to supervise employees

•

Proficient understanding of MS Office Suite applications, especially Excel

•

Valid Drivers License

•

Team player

•

Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies

•

Basic understanding of materials accounting practices

•

Minimum 2 years in a purchasing/procurement role

•

High school diploma or GED

Salary $70100-$105000 / year

+ Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
