Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Purchasing Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely acquisition of materials necessary for our operations. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, contract negotiation, and inventory control to optimize purchasing strategies and enhance operational efficiency. This role manages the Purchasing and Inventory teams
Duties
•Develop and implement purchasing strategies – includes identifying needs, evaluate supplies and negotiate contracts
•Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure consistent quality and favorable terms
•Secure favorable terms with suppliers including price, delivery, and payment conditions
•Monitor inventory levels, forecasting demand, and ensure timely replenishment of supplies
•Plan and schedule procurement activities to meet organizational needs
•Assess the performance of suppliers based on various criteria like price, quality, and delivery
•Identify opportunities to reduce costs through negotiation, efficient purchasing practices and vendor selection
•Ensure that purchased goods and services meet quality standards and specifications
•Work with other departments to align procurement strategies with organizational goals and communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders
•Manage and develop the Purchasing and Inventory Control team
•Monitor changes in the market, new technologies, and best practices in procurement
•Provides end of month reports for VP of Operations
Qualifications
•Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
•Proven experience in procurement management or a similar role within a manufacturing or production environment.
•Strong skills in contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.
•Familiarity with logistics processes and inventory control methodologies.
•Proficient in using ERP procurement software systems.
•Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess pricing strategies effectively.
•Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
•Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
