Responsibilities include: Act as a technical resource providing guidance and expertise for team members in their daily technical work; Plan and coordinate the activities of assigned team to ensure that production commitments are met; Maintain staff work schedule to cover normal hours of operation and on-call contingencies; Communicates regularly with management concerning scheduling, delivery, capacity, inspection results, compliance, inventory availability, customer expectations and other shop issues/concerns; Ensure accuracy by applying best practices and focusing on detail; Promptly reports any operational problems or safety issues with machinery, tools or equipment to Base Manager; Provide daily inspection of shop tooling and equipment; Lead and facilitate the process of continuous improvement of the processes and methods to reduce inventory errors, improve quality, increase on time delivery, and minimize work in process and to eliminate duplication of effort; Train, monitor and coach team members to improve skill level, to ensure adherence to principles, policies and standards and to improve safety, quality and process reliability in a cost-effective manner; Facilitate communications, problem resolution and provide appropriate feedback, both positive and corrective within the team; Coordinate activities within a team environment to ensure production and performance commitments are fulfilled; Train, monitor and coach team members to improve skill level, to ensure adherence to principles, policies and standards and to improve safety, quality and process reliability in a cost-effective manner; Responsible for inventory/data integrity, transaction accuracy, documentation accuracy and proper handling of materials and equipment; Audit work orders for correctness of part, quantity, quality, packaging, etc.; Recommend improvements to Assembly Procedures.
Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Shop Coordinator-related occupation. In lieu of the above, employer will accept 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a Shop Coordinator-related occupation.
- Experience with High Pressure testing equipment for cold working pressure such as 10k - 15k.
- Experience creating and maintaining records for special investigations as well as workload planning within excel.
- Experience with advanced troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and repair of large-bore and small-bore gate valves.
- Experience with heavy equipment such as loader, JLG, and Sany large forklift.
- Experience in operation of overhead crane and Jib Cranes.
