Purchasing Coordinator/Buyer

Purchasing Coordinator/Buyer Description:

This person will be responsible for the procurement of all materials coming for the facility. In this role, the individual must successfully coordinate the supply chain, assure that all material is brought in on time at the least possible cost.

Proactively monitor, track, and take necessary action to ensure delivery by dates, assure that all materials are available to support production.

Manage purchase order generation, acknowledgement receipt and backordered materials.

Check materials against purchase order upon delivery.

Coordinate timelines with Project Management and Production of all materials needed for the job.

Maintain pricing lists.

Set stock levels for high volume consumables.

Address quality issues with vendors as notified by Production.

Work Environment

Primarily in an office setting.

Occasionally the Purchaser may be required to enter the fabrication shop or verify stock counts in the storage areas. When out of the office, safety, environmental and health concerns require the necessary precautions for that particular site.

Physical Demands

This is a largely a sedentary role. This position may require an individual to sit at a computer station/desk for prolonged periods of time up (10 hours a day). The employee is regularly required to read, count and write/type to accurately complete documentation required for the position. This position may require some walking, bending, reaching and standing.

Position Type/Expected Work Hours

This is a full-time position. 45 hours.

Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. & Friday (half day work from home as required) with a 1/2 hour lunch as scheduled with management. This position may require hours beyond the standard working hours listed above to satisfy job duties and department demand.

Minimal travel is required for this position.
