The qualified candidate will be a highly organized and motivated team player with effective communication skills and is responsible for overseeing all company purchases and procuring goods and services necessary for a growing manufacturing business. He/She will have the ability to identify suppliers, negotiate effectively to assure quality and cost-effective purchases, and develop new suppliers to achieve the highest levels of performance in cost, quality, and delivery.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or relevant field with 5 years minimum experience in metal stamping, machining, and tool and die manufacturing environment.
Principal Responsibilities:
•Identify and qualify suppliers per procedure. Maintain a list of Approved Suppliers.
•Negotiate or renegotiate and administer contracts, with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives as needed to purchase goods and services
•Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance to terms of contracts
•Prepare purchase orders, solicit quotes, and review requisitions for goods and services
•Create, maintain and manage metrics to ensure supplier performance
•Solicit feedback from suppliers with Supplier Quality Surveys per procedure
•Procure and develop new suppliers to achieve the highest standards in cost, quality, and delivery.
•Develop and implement purchasing strategies and initiatives to improve overall supplier performance.
•Support Sales Team with inputs from Purchasing for customer quotations
•Proficiency with ERP or MRP platforms
•Performs other related duties as assigned
