We are a locally owned propane company serving Central Texas. Guided by our mission of distinctive quality and unmatched customer service and our vision to set the industry standard for excellence, we are hiring a responsible Propane Delivery Driver. This position works Saturday - Wednesday, with Thursday and Friday off. (40 hrs.)
Deliver propane safely and professionally to residential, commercial, and agricultural customers using company bobtail trucks. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious and takes pride in providing excellent service.
- Deliver Propane using bobtail trucks following routes and time schedule.
- Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain accurate delivery records. Report all deficiencies through proper channel.
- Load and unload propane according to established procedures.
- Complete tank fills, meter readings, and basic customer equipment checks.
- Provide friendly customer service and educate customers on proper propane use.
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Obtain Railroad Commission (RRC) LPG certification for Bobtail Driver.
- Keep vehicles, equipment, and work areas clean, organized, and in safe working condition.
- All industry standard trainings and those required by federal and state-any needed training manuals and documents are provided.
- Participate in on-call rotation.
- Valid Texas CDL (Class A or B) with HazMat and Tanker endorsements (or combined X endorsement)-REQUIRED
- Must pass pre-employment FMCSA Clearinghouse query
- Clean driving record
- Previous delivery or bobtail experience preferred
- PEP certification or willingness to obtain within 1st year of employment
- Customer Service oriented
- High school diploma or GED. Proficient in reading and writing english
- Basic computer skills for delivery software and tablets
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Must pass drug screen, background check, and DOT physical-REQUIRED
- Random Drug Testing is performed
- Must be willing to perform other duties as directed by manager, i.e. cut grass, paint tanks, etc.
This job requires some evening work, working outdoors during inclement weather, and working with hazardous materials, with daily driving on rural and highway routes in Central Texas. Some 24/7 response is required on rare occasions when customer emergency calls come in. Long hours in excess of 8 hours may be required during propane season.
Employee may be required to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects on a regular basis, and do repetitive tasks with few breaks.
