As a valued member of our Engineering team at our Kenmount Road location, you will be responsible for:
- Planning, scheduling, coordination and oversight of substation construction projects. These include planned substation refurbishment and modernization projects and projects to address load growth initiatives, as well as responding to in-service equipment failures.
- Collaborate with other groups on capital maintenance efforts.
- Ensure the safe, efficient, and timely execution of these projects. This involves the completion of project estimates, development of schedules, creation of tender documents, creation and approval of switching orders, and purchasing materials.
- Serve as the interface between contractors and various internal groups.
- Lead a team of Electrical Technologists and Project Leads and will assign tasks, set expectations, and provide guidance to team members.
- Play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of projects, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment within the Engineering team.
- Perform switching tasks in substations.
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology.
- 5 years' experience in an electrical utility environment with exposure to engineering, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of substations.
- Valid motor vehicle driver's license.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and are familiar with AutoCAD.
- Previous supervisory experience is considered an asset.
You are a highly motivated team player with a strong commitment to safety, environment and customer service, with effective interpersonal and communication skills. You have strong project management, planning, analytical and organizational skills and demonstrate excellent work ethic with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
