Chu Cho Industries LP. (CCI) is a resource and heavy construction company that works primarily within the forestry, mining, and transportation industries within the Mackenzie FSA. We Have a modern 10,000 sq. ft. shop and office complex on a 10-acre lot In Mackenzie BC. Our administration, accounting, and management for CCI is based in Prince George BC, with opportunities to work in Mackenzie.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Project Manager will oversee a large-scale Heavy Earthworks and Construction Project. This position will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project, ensuring the successful completion of earthworks tasks on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction management, earthworks, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams while managing client relationships and ensuring safety compliance.
This a fixed-term contract position finishing at the end or completion of the projects. However, there may be future opportunities available given the performance of the successful candidate.
- Develop and manage the project schedule, ensuring all project milestones are achieved on time.
- Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on scope and timelines.
- Create detailed project plans that encompass all aspects of heavy earthworks, including excavation, grading, drainage, and utilities.
- Lead and supervise a team of construction professionals, subcontractors, and laborers.
- Ensure clear communication across all team members and stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff and field supervisors.
- Manage the project budget and ensure cost controls are in place to avoid overruns.
- Review and approve subcontractor invoices and project expenses.
- Prepare regular financial reports and forecasts.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify adherence to safety protocols and quality requirements.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to project quality, safety, and performance.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, contractors, engineers, and regulatory bodies.
- Address client concerns and provide timely solutions to issues that arise during the course of the project.
- Coordinate permits, inspections, and approvals as required.
- Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors required for the project.
- Ensure the timely delivery and proper use of resources to avoid delays.
- Manage resource allocation to maximize efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive project records, including daily logs, progress reports, and documentation of changes to scope or schedule.
- Provide regular project status updates to senior management and stakeholders.- 10 + years of experience of project management in heavy earthworks and construction projects
- Experience forestry, mining, industry, and logging is considered an asset
- Experience working for a first nation’s owned organization is considered an asset
- Experience working with BC Hydro is considered an asset
- High level of experience across all phases of project management
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong technological skills to be able to communicate and perform reporting duties effectively and efficiently
- High level of integrity and professionalism
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to learn, perseverance and commitment to the Chu Cho team
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- This position will require time spent at worksites in various weather conditions. Camp accommodations will be provided as necessary.
- Flexibility in hours may be required, with weekend or evening work to meet project deadlines.
- Travel to project locations is required. Vehicle or vehicle allowance provided where necessary.
