In this role, you'll work across operations and projects, ensuring risk management isn’t just a checkbox—but a driver of better decisions and safer outcomes. From daily operations to major initiatives, your expertise will directly impact how risks are identified, managed, and communicated. If you're driven by purpose, thrive in dynamic environments, and want to be part of something bigger, read on.

The role in a nutshell:

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Project Geologist will support the Technical Services Team in legacy mine environments through claims management, drilling programs, geological data management, and digital modelling. The role combines office-based and some field work geological work, providing exposure to a broad range of geological and data management tasks including supporting claims management, core logging, GIS data handling, geological modelling, and the integration and management of historical datasets for resource and reserve interpretation.

More specifically, you will be expected to:

Participate in geological reviews of legacy mine sites, assessing remaining mineral potential and data quality.

Supporting the closure teams and business development with geological input on ground conditions, historical workings, and materials characterization.

Manage and maintain geological databases and file sets for both current and historical data, ensuring consistency, traceability, and quality.

Compile, validate, and maintain geological, resource and mining data from historic operations.

Work with the senior geologist to reconcile and standardize old datasets into modern data management systems.

Support compliance and reporting obligations, including technical documentation, resource estimates, data QA/QC, and coordination with environmental or closure teams.

Assist in preparing data and reports for claims management and internal compliance with NI 43-101 or JORC standards (if applicable).

Develop and update 3D geological and resource models (using e.g. Leapfrog Geo, Datamine, etc.).

Integrate geological, geophysical, and geochemical datasets to improve understanding of mineralized systems.

Prepare maps, sections, and visualizations using GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) for reporting and presentation.

Support ongoing reconciliation between models, drilling data, and production information.

Evaluate historical datasets (reports, drill and assay logs, reports) to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for resource re-assessment or re-interpretation.

Assist with developing and executing sampling and drilling programs, including HSEC planning, site preparation, sampling protocols, and coordination with contractors.

Conduct core logging and geological interpretation in line with company standards, capturing lithology, structure, alteration, and mineralization data.

Supervise sample collection, preparation, and QA/QC processes to ensure data integrity.

Support geotechnical logging and downhole data collection.

Practical familiarity with drilling operations to coordinate drilling campaigns or liaise with contractors.

Do you have what it takes?

Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geoscience, or a related Earth Science discipline.

5-8 years of experience in mining, exploration, or geological data management.

Exposure to core logging, drilling programs, and sampling protocols in exploration or mine settings.

Familiarity with geological modelling software such as Leapfrog Geo, Datamine, and GIS platforms (ArcGIS, QGIS).

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and geological database management tools (e.g., acQuire, Datashed, MX Deposit).

Understanding of QA/QC protocols, sampling techniques, and data validation processes.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

Good spatial reasoning and 3D visualization skills.

Ability to work independently in remote field environments and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Effective communicator with good technical writing and presentation skills.

Enthusiasm for continuous learning and professional growth in geology and data technologies.

Travel: You will be required to travel to the different sites approximately 30-40% of the time (some remote locations on an ad-hoc basis) and work with colleagues located in different time zones on a regular basis.

Language: Advanced proficiency in English (verbal and written) is mandatory. The knowledge of French is beneficial.

Location: Toronto when not travelling to sites.

Please note that while we appreciate all applications, only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.

Only candidates with legal authorization to work in Canada will be considered for this position.
