We are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer with specialization in Drill and Blast to join our team for major projects in British Columbia.

- Develop detailed blast designs (patterns, loading, timing) using inhouse software and ShotPlus to optimize fragmentation and seismic events
- Maintain daily field records, blast logs, and project documentation
- Attend pre-job start-up meetings and support submission of required pre-job documentation
- Support site safety programs, blast clearance procedures, and misfire protocols in coordination with the Safety department
- Track and report blast quantities, rock volumes, and other project-specific quantities for billing and cost control
- Support progress claims, quantity tracking, and change order documentation
- Prepare RFIs, technical reports, and weekly progress updates
- Monitor blast performance metrics, including powder factor and cost per tonne/m3 and implement improvements
- Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and geotechnical information
- Assist with blast design, planning, notifications, drill patterns, and charge design using Civil 3D
- Utilize computer applications for drill pattern design, modelling, mapping, and performance monitoring
- Review LEMS to ensure alignment with project execution
- Resolve drill & blast technical issues in collaboration with site supervision and engineering teams
- Support topographical surveys using Topcon GPS and drone technology (asset)
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, geological engineering or related fields
- Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience in mining, heavy civil operations with at least 2 years in dedicated drill and blast or project engineering role
- Proficiency with AutoCAD / Civil 3D
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required
- Experience with MinePlan
- Survey experience including Topcon GPS and drone surveying
- Knowledge of mining and occupational health & safety regulations
- Experience supporting estimating or tender preparation
Preference will be given to those candidates with proven experience in a mining/civil background.
