Centerline Energy Construction is hiring Project Coordinator / Permit Specialist for support of utility construction projects by managing permits, coordinating with municipalities and regulatory agencies, and ensuring compliance with permitting requirements. This role works closely with project managers, field crews, and clients to maintain project schedules track documentation, and facilitate smooth operations in the natural gas distribution and restoration sectors.
- Prepare, submit, and track permit applications for natural gas utility construction projects (ROW, traffic control, excavation, restoration, environmental, etc.)
- Communicate with municipalities, DOT, state/local agencies, and utility companies to obtain necessary approvals.
- Monitor permit status and ensure timely renewals, revisions, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, general foreman, foreman, and field crews to align permit approvals with construction schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of permits, approvals, fees, and conditions.
- Support project documentation including as-builts, restoration records, and compliance reporting.
- Provide administrative and logistical support to project teams.
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal regulation, as well as client specific requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of permitting processes and documentations standards.
- Experience in permitting, project coordination, or utility construction administration, preferably in natural gas or underground utilities.
- Familiarity with municipal permitting systems. DOT regulations and right-of-way processes.
- Strong organizational skill with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficient and experienced with project management or permitting software a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with agencies, clients, and internal teams.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to track documentation and regulatory requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent required: associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, business or related field preferred.
- Primarily office-based with occasional site visits or travel to municipalities.
- May involve occasional extended hours to meet permitting or project deadlines.
