AMG Aluminum NA is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Production Supervisor. In this vital role, you will work closely with our team of Production Supervisors in the production of various aluminum alloys. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with five or more years' experience in manufacturing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Lead by example and comply with all AMG Aluminum’s safety and environmental requirements, policies, and procedures, including AMG’s Code of Business Conduct
- Train and provide guidance to ensure safety and mitigate environmental risk; build a culture of safety engagement
- Embrace and promote the AMG culture in all day-to-day activities; foster and promote a positive, respectful work environment that is aligned with AMG’s values
- Review production orders and schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations
- Plan production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products
- Prepare operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications
- Review production and operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
- Collaborate and support the relief supervisor to carry out supervisory responsibilities when necessary
- Interview and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; reward and discipline employees
- Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards
- Resolve worker grievances or submit unsettled grievances to Operations Manager for action
- During ongoing operations, develop, assess, and implement process improvements that increase equipment reliability, productivity, capacity, throughput, quality, and efficiency; work with Operations and Engineering to optimize production while reducing cost
- Lead continuous improvement activities
- Collect data and apply standard scientific and statistical methods to measure, analyze, document, and evaluate operational processes; develop and maintain reports to track and monitor key data
- Conduct risk analysis of equipment, processes, and systems
- Must be cross trained for other duties as designated by the Operations Manager and willing to perform any other duties requested by the Operations Manager
- Highschool Diploma or GED Equivalent required, associate's degree preferred
- 5 or more years of related foundry, manufacturing, or industrial experience required
- Must be proficient using Microsoft Office; including but not limited to Outlook, Word & Excel, ADP Time & Attendance software, basic internet, and IFS Manufacturing software
- Must be willing to work a shift rotation (Days, Swing, Graveyard) Monday through Friday, with occasional need to work on weekends
- Experience working with a union is a plus
