We are seeking a skilled and motivated Production Operator to support our expanding minting and manufacturing operations. This hands-on role involves operating Coining presses, burnishing and packaging equipment, CNC machinery, and handling high-value materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, an eye for detail, and a passion for quality craftsmanship.
Operate and monitor high-tonnage presses to strike products, ensuring consistent pressure, alignment, and finish in line with Scottsdale Mint’s elite standards.
Operate CNC machinery for the precision fabrication of materials used in minting processes.
Operate burnishing and tumbling machines to clean and polish silver and gold blanks or struck products to achieve a flawless finish before packaging.
Handle raw materials, track usage accurately, and ensure secure transfer of goods throughout the production floor. Utilize scales, carts, and material handling equipment (pallet jack, forklift).
Conduct precise inspections using calipers, micrometers, digital scales, and visual inspection techniques to ensure products meet dimensional and aesthetic standards.
Operate manual and automated packaging equipment to prepare finished coin and bars for secure storage or shipment. Label, document, and stage packaged products per order specs.
Perform basic maintenance on minting, CNC, and packaging machinery. Report issues to maintenance to minimize downtime.
Maintain accurate logs for production output, metal usage, CNC programs, and quality checks. Assist in internal audits and compliance procedures.
Follow all Scottsdale Mint safety and security protocols related to equipment, precious metals, and access-controlled areas.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience operating machinery and automated production equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot minor machine issues.
- Understanding technical drawings and measuring tools.
- Comfortable using computers and production software for tracking/logging.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
