Schedule: Monday - Friday , 7:00AM - 4:00PM
The Production Manager will provided the planning, organization and leadership by directing, coordinating and clearly communicating the activities of the production team in order to meet customer needs, optimize efficiency and reduce costs. The Production Manager will also demonstrate an understanding of the business implications of decisions, display an orientation toward maximizing profitability and a knowledge of the Company’s market and competition; so that production activities align with the Company’s overall strategic goals.
- Plan, establish, monitor and maintain schedules in coordination with sales, purchasing, warehouse and management regarding daily status of operations.
- Overall supervision of production and warehouse personnel, including assigning labor to tasks daily, communicating related quotas and measurement of results.
- Setting and managing daily priorities; schedule and lead daily production meetings and safety meetings as needed.
- Overall management of the production budget for each production cost center and overall management of the production labor budget, including analyzing the usage of overtime and other direct costs by maximizing staff utilization.
- Set and maintain productivity standards and enforce all standards (policies, practices, quotas, safety, etc.).
- Utilize Company’s operating software system (FACTS) to manage the Bill of Materials, Inventory adjustments and other record keeping needs for production.
- Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner by gathering and analyzing information skillfully, developing alternative solutions and being able to problem solve in a team environment.
- Ensure excellence and on-time delivery of quality products to customers.
- Knowledge of Word processing software, EXCEL spreadsheet software and other database administration to measure, track and communicate all related activities.
- Establishing long-term planning for work demands, weekly, monthly, etc.
- Able to execute expediting procedures when needed.
- Ensure maintenance, physical organization and upkeep of the production facility in an effective and efficient manner.
- Maintain positive and professional interaction with coworkers, direct labor, outside agencies, etc. to facilitate clear communication regarding proper procedures and unusual processing demands.
- Required to follow all company policies as stated in the employee handbook
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration required.
- 4-10 years’ experience in production or process management.
- Formal knowledge of ISO 9000 or Kaizen business systems preferred but not required.
- Previous experience managing large teams of workers; preferably in a high- volume, fast-paced production environment.
