Process Operator (4th class power engineer)

Are you a Fourth Class Power Engineer and have a passion for driving efficiencies? We are #hiring a Power Engineer at our Syncrude Mildred Lake site.

In this role, you will be responsible for operating the equipment safely and efficiently, according to established practices, procedures, and guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

- 5 years of working experience as a Power Engineer

- Fourth Class Power Engineer’s ticket

- Ability to interpret Alberta Safety Code Regulation, which includes ASME Codes and others

- Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Responsibilities:

- Intervene directly with the shift organization and the business team accountable on any issues that are not in compliance or have the potential of not being in compliance

- Utilize specialized knowledge and skills to independently devise new/modified methods and approaches or develop new/modified processes, to resolve non-routine needs or problems

- Complete regular field checks to monitor plant performance

- Troubleshoot and identify equipment issues of the operating unit

- Complete equipment start-up and shutdown activities

- Prepare and return equipment for maintenance

- Complete equipment isolations and de-isolations

- Develop or participate in the development of safe work plans as required

- Monitor all activities in area of responsibility for compliance to safe work permits

Location and other Key Details:

- You will work out of our Syncrude Mildred Lake site in Fort McMurray

- The shift schedule is 3 days 3 nights and 6 off – 12 hour shifts

- You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
