Key Accountabilities
Under minimal supervision, the Process Engineer will provide technical expertise and support optimization of granulation and drying processes in a manufacturing environment. This role involves applying fundamental engineering principles to implement system modifications, support equipment troubleshooting, and contribute to process improvement initiatives, ensuring adherence to GMP/GLP regulations in a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical expert for equipment/systems used for granulation and drying processes.
- Support troubleshooting activities and participate in daily operations as needed to resolve issues.
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques to solve moderately complex problems.
- Investigate process-related issues by analyzing variables and developing recommendations to enhance process efficiency or resolve failures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, maintenance, process development, utilities, facilities, quality, and validation.
- Participate in the development of standard design documentation with consultants, architects, and engineering firms.
- Generate and critique quotes for equipment installations/modifications and prepare basic project estimates and schedules.
- Support validation protocol execution and documentation efforts in line with GMP/GLP standards.
- Maintain technical reports and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Interpret engineering drawings, process flow diagrams (P&IDs), and utilize relevant digital tools
- Experience with GMP-related processes, validation, and documentation.
- Familiarity with granulation and drying processes.
- Knowledge of PLC systems, manufacturing automation, and equipment startup/troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to understand manufacturing control systems (inputs/outputs) and failure modes (e.g., valves, pumps, utilities).
- Excellent self-learning ability and comfort with using technology for process analysis.

Education
University Degree in Process Engineering.
Experience
3 to 5 years of experience preferably in the mineral processing industry or other heavy industry in operations and/or engineering fields or equivalent combinations of education, training and experience, are required.
Knowledge And Skills
Excellent organizational skills.Ability to multi task in high pressured environment.Strong skills in Word and Excel are required. Must possess a basic knowledge of mineral processing including: quarrying, crushing, grinding, classification, conveying, packaging, storage and shipping.Good numeracy / literacy skills.Good interpersonal skills.
