Summary:
This position will report to the Sr Director – Engineer as a part of the Gulf Coast Ops Engineering team within the Terminal Services organization. Primary focus is to provide Process Engineering and Optimization support to the Nederland and Spindletop Facilities:
- Nederland Export Terminal
- Ethane Chilling and Export Capacity of 360k+ BBL/d - Propane Chilling and Export Capacity of 500k+ BBL/d - Butane Chilling and Export Capacity of 200k+ BBL/d - Product Storage of 3MM+ BBLs- Spindletop Storage Facility
- 11MM+ BBLs Storage Capacity across Ethylene and Helium - Ethylene delivery capacity of 600k+ lbs/hrAdditional assets supported by the Gulf Coast Ops Engineering team include:
- 8 NGL Fractionation Plants with a combined capacity over 1.15 million BBL/d
- Ongoing Frac 9 Expansion providing additional 165k BBL/d capacity
- 63+ million barrels of Salt Dome Storage capacity- Ongoing Expansion providing additional 6MM BBLs Storage Capacity
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily listed below:
- Provide Process Engineering support for the Nederland Export Terminal and Spindletop Storage Facility located near Nederland, TX. Core Functions are as follows:
- Revenue Generation – Capacity Increases, Product Uplift, Increased Runtime
- Expense Reduction – Reduce Utilities, Maintenance, Consumables
- Process Troubleshooting:
- Operations Support – Primary Resources for Ops
- RCFA’s – Lead Investigations, Develop & Implement Solutions, Lessons Learned
- Compliance Support:
- PSM – PHA Prep & Engineering SME, addressing Action Items, PSI Upkeep
- Environmental – Quantifying & Supporting Emissions Compliance
- CapMaint Project Execution:
- Annual Project Budget Cycle Support – Scoping & Estimating Projects
- Project Execution – Assign PM’s and Executive Projects
- CapGrowth Project Growth:
- Pre-FID – Concept Reviews, Lessons Learned, Potential Optimizations
- Post-FID – Design Reviews, PHA, Commissioning & Start-up Support
- Maintain facility process simulations and work with other process engineers to develop process solutions while following engineering standards, code compliance, company and safety standards, and good engineering practices.
- Proactively seek opportunities to broaden and deepen process engineering and project management knowledge base and proficiencies.
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
The basic requirements for this position are listed below:
- A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (preferably Chemical, Mechanical, or Natural Gas) and 3-6 years of relevant work experience
- Highly motivated with a consistent drive for growth and development
- Solution oriented mindset and ability to apply Critical Thinking skills
- Organized and able to effectively prioritize tasks
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority
- Team player with a willingness to assist outside of own discipline
- Proficiency utilizing Engineering Process Simulation Programs (ProMax, Hysys, etc.)
- Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite applications
In addition to the requirements listed above, we value candidates with any of the following qualifications:
- Experience with NGL/LPG facilities
- Knowledge of Treating and Dehydration fundamentals, operation and maintenance
- Knowledge of Refrigeration fundamentals, operation and maintenance
- Knowledge of Refrigerated Storage fundamentals, operation and maintenance
- Knowledge of Boil-Off Gas fundamentals, operation and maintenance
- Experience with PSM facilities and PHA/LOPA processes
- Operations, Maintenance or Technical Operations experience in the Midstream industry
- Master’s Degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, etc)
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Engineering Job Level will be commensurate with relevant experience.

- Required to live within 45 minutes of the reporting location.
- Normal office working conditions and field work.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment will occur.
