Powder Coating Operator

A Powder Coater is responsible for applying powder coating to raw materials, often metal, using manual spray guns or automated spray booths.

Essential Functions:

- Cleaning and preparing surfaces for powder coating

- Ensuring proper adhesion by sandblasting or other surface treatments

- Regulating machine temperature, air pressure and flow of coatings

- Spraying the powder coating evenly onto the surface

- Inspecting coated components for uniformity, coverage and defects

- Ensuring the final product meets manufacturing standards

Additional requirements:

- Wearing protective gear to avoid exposure to the powder coating, PPE consisting of respirator, gloves, eye protection, etc..

- Experience in powder coating techniques

- Strong attention to detail and quality

- Knowledge of coating equipment and materials

- Safely lifts and / or moves up to 50lbs

- Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands; Frequently will bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch
