Job Title: EFG Plant Operator

Job Location: Asbury Graphite of North Carolina, Inc., 191 Magna Blvd., Lumberton, NC 28360

Reports To: Plant Manager

Manages: N/A

Job Overview: The EFG Plant Operator: moves pallets, via forklift, through the production process; loads raw material into machinery to create batches; operates line’s processing machinery to create finished goods to ship; takes samples of raw, in-process, and finished goods; packs off the finished products in bags, drums and sacks; prepares the finished material for shipping according to procedures and customer requirements; keeps accurate and legible records; performs basic computer tasks associated with production. Will function as a plant operator when EFG line is not in use.

Roles & Responsibilities:

· Safely operate EFG production machinery and fill in as a plant operator when needed

· Ability to pass a full range physical and drug test· Read and follow all written instructions

· Maintain the cleanliness and the organization of the work area

· Operate forklifts in a safe manner

· Unload, identify and sample incoming raw material as directed

· Review customer work tickets to ensure the labeling, packaging, and quantity are correct

· Load and unload trucks in a safe manner while protecting the integrity of the product

· Maintain required documentation associated with shipping, receiving, and production

· Pack and identify material as directed in written instructions

· Pull samples as directed in written instructions

· Adhere to attendance policies

· Willing to work off-shift hours and overtime when necessary

Preferred Experience/skills:

Required Experience:

· Manufacturing experience required

- Experience with batching and measuring dry and wet components preferred

- Ability to closely follow a chemical recipe

· Ability to multitask / to complete multiple tasks with little to no supervision is required

· Prior forklift experience and certification is preferred, training will be provided if needed.

- Experience loading and unloading pallets from trucks is a plus

Education Requirements:

· Ability to read and write English· High School Diploma or equivalent – a focus on math or chemistry preferred.

· Demonstrate the ability to learn the tasks introduced through on-the-job training

· Attention to detail must be a priority

Working conditions:

The job entails working in ambient “outside” conditions albeit inside a well-ventilated warehouse building. The main product is graphite and other non-hazardous powdered materials, and the manufacturing process leads to a dusty / dirty environment, so the employee will get dirty on a daily basis. – Work attire is provided after a 90-day probationary period.

Safety is our first priority. The employee must be willing and able to work with a full range of personal protective equipment (PPE) depending on the manufacturing area including, but not limited to, gloves, hard-hat, steel toe shoes, dust mask, and safety glasses.

Physical requirements:

· Must be able to safely operate a forklift

· Must be able to handle the physical activities of the job, including lifting and stacking 55 LB bags, packing, and moving drums and other containerized materials

· Must be able to work in hot and cold conditions while wearing the required PPE.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
