Summary
The Plant Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence throughout the entire Ogden operation. Responsibilities include leading all plant employees to meet/exceed targeted plant goals. Key goals are continuous performance improvement in Environmental and Safety Outcomes, Employee Engagement, Cost Management, Reliability, Production and Product Availability, and Quality.
Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to the following:

•Cultivates a proactive and sustainable health, safety, and environmental culture that supports company policy, practices, and complies with local, state, and federal laws.
•Evaluates, manages, and is responsible for meeting plant targets on operational costs, equipment/process efficiencies (labor, energy, etc.), and departmental productivity. Provides related guidance to direct reports as necessary.
•Builds upon current high morale through active engagement of employees. This includes listening and involving inclusive levels of employees in driving fact-based decisions that deliver timely results aligned with overall business expectations. Recognizes individual and team contributions, ideas, and performance.
•Reviews and approves departmental short-term/long-term plans and production schedules. Ensures that related strategies in plant efficiency management, inventory control, and shipment coordination support overall objectives.
•Controls and/or coordinates the allocation of departmental personnel, machinery, and other resources to optimize production at the lowest effective cost.
•Approves proposed facility maintenance shutdowns and/or equipment repairs. Considers relevant cost and service impact to benefit ratios and approves or reschedules accordingly.
•Maintains plant operating instructions and efficiency performance. Ensures that KPIs are properly tracked, communicated, and recorded.
•Oversees the plant Management of Change process.
•Ensures that all company standards, practices, and procedures are followed.
•Overall responsibility for the preparation, presentation, and results of the plant budget and capital program.
•Monitors departmental employee performance, development, training, and succession management needs. Establishes processes that promote performance improvement.
•Networks and actively seeks help from available company resources. Develops positive interdepartmental relationships between Ogden Site, other plants, and Overland Park.
•Promotes and has an expectation for building a culture conducive to generating continuous improvement in the operation, customer satisfaction, and adherence to CMP Core Values.
•Leads and measures Operational Excellence initiatives for production units.
•Must be comfortable setting and juggling multiple priorities; delivering the day-to-day performance of the plant with confidence while setting the longer-term vision and strategy for the processes and people at the plant.
•Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Required Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
•Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited educational institution (Preferred).
•Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Operations Management in the chemicals, mining, or mineral processing industries; preferably with roles of increasing responsibility in multiple plant locations.
