Job Responsibilities
Rogers Group is currently seeking a
Plant Manager
for our sand and gravel operations located near our Ennis, TX and Glen Rose, TX areas. The position reports to the Texas General Manager. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but not limited to:
•Supervising mine employees and processing plant operations.
•Overseeing proper implementation of safety procedures.
•Control costs to meet budgets and reduce costs to achieve savings.
•Identify deficiencies and implement a plan for continuous improvement.
•Effectively manage staff by setting clear, concise performance objectives, providing regular feedback, and providing development through training and accountability.
•Ensure compliance with all Company and Government policies and regulations.
•Direct mine and pit planning and development.
•Assist in budgeting and forecasting.
•Ensure processes for quality product production and collaborate with area QC department.
•Constant communication and collaboration with sales team.
•Actively reaching out and being involved in the local community.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, geological engineering or similar preferred.
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in quarry or sand & gravel mining operations.
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory/management role within the mining industry.
•Working knowledge of profit and loss statements and basic accounting principles.
•Strong communication and leadership skills.
•Ability to develop leadership at the lead person and foreman levels.
•Demonstrated ability in identifying, communicating, and implementing best operating practices, including quality, maintenance, production, and safety excellence.
•Proven safety record and excellent compliance in MSHA safety standards for Part 46 & 48.
•Possess strong basic math knowledge.
•Basic surveying and mapping skills preferred.
•Working knowledge of environmental policies, standards, and best practices.
•Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Office.
