An established Pipe & Steel Supply company in the beautiful Baltimore, MD area is seeking an experienced PLANT MANAGER…we are a family-owned full line, stocking distributor of structural steel products, pipe, valve, fittings and piping specialties in our 400,000 square foot single stocking warehouse location.
Responsibilities:
•
Operational Management: Oversee all aspects of the plant's operations, including production scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization.
•
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of skilled workers, supervisors, and support staff to achieve production goals and maintain a positive work environment.
•
Quality Control: Ensure all products meet or exceed industry standards and customer specifications through rigorous quality control processes. Utilize quality data to institute a training program that addresses the most common causes of rework and errors.
•
Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
•
Maintenance Management: Work with plant maintenance personnel to enforce a preemptive maintenance and service program to maximize equipment uptime and minimize unscheduled breakdowns.
•
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and increase overall efficiency.
•
Customer Relations: Collaborate with sales, project management, logistics, and procurement to ensure customer satisfaction and address any issues or concerns promptly.
Qualifications:
•
Bachelor's degree in Business Management, or a related field.
•
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a PVF and/or steel distribution or related exp
•
Proven leadership and team management skills.
•
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
•
Proficiency in using manufacturing software and tools.
•
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
•
Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma training helpful
•
Experience with software systems we use Eclipse
