General Purpose

Works with Journeyman and others in the installation and maintenance of plant equipment and other work as assigned.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

- Operates and observes the operation of conveying equipment, coal breakers, and reciprocating loaders.

- Assists with the loading and unloading of coal in the coal handling system.

- Reads a weightometer.

- Keeps area around conveyors clean as assigned.

Safety and Security: Observes safety and security procedures; Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.

Requirements

- High school diploma or proof of equivalent GED.

- Prior experience with hand tools and small power tools.

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, or greater.

- Must Pass a physical exam, upon request.

- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision and Depth perception.

- Typically uses hand tools such as brooms, shovels, hand carts, maintenance tools, such as screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, jack hammers, etc.

- Operates forklifts and pickup trucks.

- If working outside the Plant worker may stand or walk up to 80% of the day.

- If assigned inside the Plant may walk 50% of day.

- Surfaces are variable, uneven ground, paved, grating, concrete or mud.
