We are looking for a Piping Designer to join our team.
- Applies 3D equipment and piping modelling techniques and design practices to prepare portions of the 3D CAD design model under the supervision of experienced designers.
- Participates in formal and informal client model reviews including the recording and closure of model review comments within their area of responsibility.
- Prepares bulk material quantity takeoffs and supports material estimates applicable to the discipline.
- Works with designers in other disciplines in the overall assignment to coordinate designs.
- Participates in and fosters a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and quality.
- Communicates with client representatives, technical specialists, inter-discipline design team members and supervisors to obtain technical information as required.
- Ensures compliance with approved design standards in own work and by those assigned, to provide quality design.
- Provide leadership to junior, intermediate, and senior piping designers.
- Completion of a two-year college program in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology or three-to-four-year apprentice program in a related field.
- 8 + years experience as a Piping Designer within the Oil and Gas sector.- A sound knowledge and experience modelling equipment and piping in 3D CADD applications, specifically SmartPlant 3D (S3D).
- Able to make basic day-to-day decisions which may involve planning and are well defined by project requirements.
