Reporting to the Environmental Permitting Lead, you will be part of the Ontario Regional Permitting Team. You will support the coordination with the site operations and projects team to identify permit requirements and the preparation of permitting applications. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Support the permitting leads in the development of regulatory permit applications;
- Coordinate the collection of required studies and information with internal and external resources and ensure proper follow-up to meet permitting schedule;
- Coordinate the internal review of permitting documentation and support the integration of feedback received;
- Maintain a tracking of permitting progress;
- Support in the consultation with site and project managers to evaluate permitting requirements, existing permit conditions and Environmental Management requirements;
- Support in the preparation of consultation material in collaboration with the Ontario Community Relations Team;
- Participate in consultation events with Indigenous Nations, public, and other stakeholders and support in ensuring accurate documentation and record keeping;
- Support in the questions and answers process as part of the consultation requirement with communities;
- Participate in meetings with authorities and support in ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping ;
- Keep up to date on changing Federal, Provincial, and local regulations.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field and 4 years’ of experience working in the environment and mining field with a focus on permitting and compliance;
- Experience with Indigenous Nations and people engagement;
- Strong Knowledge of Ontario Provincial and Federal Acts and Regulations;
- Excellent skills in project management and technical writing;
- Experience using GIS software is highly valued and considered an asset
- Advanced working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with the ability to work within the teleworking policy for Ontario with offices in Timmins, Sudbury, and Kirkland Lake, ON;
- Frequent travel to site will be required.
