The Payables Assistant helps support our core values and company mission by accurately processing invoices, payments and other financial transactions for the company.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

Ensure accurate and timely invoice and payment processing
Adhere to internal controls by reviewing proper account coding and invoice approvals
Identify and resolve discrepancies and complete monthly reconciliations
Communicate with internal subject area experts and external vendors
Review expense reports and provide assistance and feedback to employees
Collaborate with the transaction accounting team to complete daily tasks and processes

What are the requirements needed for this position?

Associate’s degree preferred – Accounting, Finance, Business
Motivated team player that can work in a complex and fast-paced environment
Ability to manage numerous deadlines and prioritize workload accordingly
Self-starter, requiring little supervision
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Superior communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
This position is required to work in the Fergus Falls office, with some remote work opportunity

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

Prior experience in accounts payable
Prior experience in regulated utility industry operations
Knowledge of Oracle accounting software
Passion for innovation, automation and technology
Desire and interest in continually improving skills and processes

+ The expected base compensation for this role is $40,000 to $48,000 annually. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position. + Incentive plans + Employee Stock Ownership options + Retirement Savings Fund with employer match + Health, disability and life insurance plan options
