The Overnight Painter will use paint application techniques and equipment to professionally prime and or finish fabricated metal and steel surfaces. This is a full-time position working 5 – ten-hour shifts, Monday through Friday. Overtime is paid out after 40 hours.
- Measures area to be painted; determines quantity and type of product to use for the project.
- Identifies and appropriate paint colors and finishes, mixing if needed.
- Prepares surfaces to be painted.
- Masks, removes, covers, or otherwise nonpainted surfaces.
- Applies paint surfaces using sprayers and other tools.
- Performs basic stencil and line work
- Complies with chemical and waste storage and disposal regulations and best practices.
- Reports any problems with materials to supervisor.
- Manages and piles drums, skids, pallets, and other supplies in specified areas.
- Maintains a clean work area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and provide consistent work.
- Education and Experience:
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship program, previous experience, or on-the-job training required.
- Prolonged periods of standing and painting.
- Must have adequate balance and ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
- Ability to maintain single-task focus and situational awareness.
- Must be able to move and lift up to 60-pounds comfortably.
- Must be able to distinguish among colors.

- Master, $34.00 (4 years minimum service at Briese Iron Works required)
