Nordic Minesteel Technologies (NMT) is currently seeking a Painter to join our Night shift team in a fast-paced metal fabrication environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industrial painting processes in a manufacturing setting and a strong understanding of surface preparation, coating application, and quality standards. This role is critical to the successful completion of mining equipment by preparing, painting, and finishing components to provide durable, protective, and high-quality coatings.

- Complete paint preparation and application, including cleaning, sanding, blasting, masking, and priming
- Mix paint and operate powered spray-painting equipment in accordance with specifications
- Apply paint efficiently following manufacturer guidelines to achieve an attractive, durable, and protective coating
- Monitor drying and curing processes and inspect finished work for quality and compliance
- Operate and maintain paint equipment, spray guns, booths, ovens, and related tools
- Clean paint and manufacturing equipment with solvents when required
- Move projects in and out of the paint booth using a forklift or crane, if trained
- Safely handle, store, and manage paints, solvents, and related materials
- Identify quality issues and report them immediately to the Supervisor
- Accurately record time for each job phase and maintain daily logs
- Maintain paint inventory, update stock levels regularly, and communicate ordering needs in a timely manner
- Observe and perform all company safety rules and precautions
- Wear appropriate clothing, footwear, and PPE in accordance with company guidelines
- Report any personal incident or injury immediately to the Supervisor
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including paint booths, equipment, and department spaces
- Read and interpret blueprints, written instructions, and processing requirements
- Meet or reduce allocated job times while maintaining high-quality output
- Provide production backup to other fabrication operations as required
- Assist with training new employees when requested
- Maintain professional behavior, positive attitude, and strong teamwork at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Knowledge of industrial painting techniques, surface preparation, and coating applications
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Good problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work safely with hazardous materials and in an industrial setting
- Physically capable of performing manual tasks in a production environment
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to paint, solvents, and industrial equipment
- Adherence to strict safety and quality protocols is required
- Operational Hours: 03:30 p.m. to 02:00 a.m.
