Overhead Crane Operator - 1st Shift

We are seeking a skilled Overhead Crane Operator for our first shift to support our receiving department for a $18/hour position. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years experience operating overhead cranes and have a flexible schedule. Must be able to work overtime when needed and start as early as 5am or 7am and work 10 to 12hrs, when needed. This role involves safely maneuvering coils, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

- Operate overhead cranes to lift, move, and position sheet metal coils into appropriate location from flatbed trucks or trains

- Conduct pre-operation inspections of cranes to ensure safety and functionality

- Coordinate with team members to facilitate efficient material handling and project workflow

- Break down the coils and label the weight and staging locations

- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment

- Assist with setup and breakdown of crane operations as needed

Requirements

- Proven experience operating overhead cranes in an industrial setting

- Able to pass a background and drug test

- Ability to work in physically demanding environments and lift heavy loads safely

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols

- Must be able to work the first shift hours consistently and reliably

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
