Overhead Crane Operator

Position Summary:

The Overhead Crane Operator will be responsible for safely handling, moving, and loading structural steel and raw materials. This role requires strong knowledge of rigging requirements and proper rigging points to avoid damage to the steel while maintaining a safe work environment. Operators will also assist with rolling single members, building finished products into loads, and unloading raw material bundles.

Key Responsibilities:

- Safely operate overhead cranes to handle structural steel and raw materials.

- Utilize proper rigging techniques and identify appropriate rigging points.

- Load and unload raw material bundles efficiently and safely.

- Roll single steel members on horses to prepare them for fabrication.

- Build and secure finished products into loads for shipping.

- Inspect rigging equipment and report any safety concerns.

- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements:

- Experience operating overhead cranes in a structural steel environment is preferred.

- Strong knowledge of rigging requirements and safe rigging practices.

- Understanding of rigging points to prevent damage to materials.

- Ability to read and follow work orders and production instructions.

- Strong attention to safety and detail.

- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
