The Operations Manager is responsible for managing key resources across field operations to ensure organizational and project needs are met. This role oversees staffing, resource allocation, fleet and safety compliance, subcontractor relations, and project invoicing. The Operations Manager plays a critical role in ensuring efficiency, compliance, and quality across utility services projects while supporting business growth and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Partner with HR and subcontractors to hire, train, and assign technicians to projects based on skills, experience, and availability.
- Monitor daily project activities and resourcing, including capacity planning, reallocating resources, and escalating shortages to senior management.
- Oversee fleet operations, including vehicle procurement, maintenance, and turnover, aligning with project and business needs.
- Ensure technician compliance with policies, background checks, labor laws, and drug screening requirements.
- Monitor safety audits, Samsara alerts, and coaching efforts to ensure safe technician performance in the field.
- Manage subcontractor onboarding, agreements, and project coordination to meet business requirements.
- Track completion of required EHS training modules and ensure technician training is current.
- Coordinate lodging, travel, and project assignments for technicians during transfers, onboarding, offboarding, and leave.
- Compile and submit bi-monthly invoices for public power installation projects, field services, and testing; support Accounts Receivable collections as needed.
- Provide recurring KPI reporting and support the development of quality control practices.
