- Work with Finance and Director of Canadian Operations to develop the annual Business Plan and strategic initiatives.
- Oversee and manage the day to day operational activities, KPI development & review.
- Is the management representative for the Registered Quality Management System
- Lead and mentor the operations team, Identify professional development gaps and propose training initiatives.
- Plan capital requirements.
- Analyze costs, pricing, and other financial date relative to the day to day operation of the business
- Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost reduction opportunities
- Identify and develop plans to mitigate operational risks.
- Assessing the value, importance, or quality of employees or productional needs
- Providing guidance and directions to subordinates and teammates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
- Ensure output meets quality standards.
- Ensure all health and safety precautions are taken, policies are followed and enforced
- The Operations Manager may be reassigned to other work matching their qualifications from time to time. The General Manager may also be required to complete other duties as assigned.
- The Operations Manager will initiate, propose, or provide solutions related to potential process improvements to reduce or eliminate the generation of waste, the handling or disposal of waste through reclamation and/or recycling of material.
- 5-10 years experience in a manufacturing leadership positions
- College diploma or University degree combined with industry specific experience
- Thorough knowledge of production management, with demonstrated ability to and delivery on time in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize and organize work while overseeing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Understanding of quality standards and ability to regularly deliver products that meet or exceed the identified standards
- Experience developing performance goals, tracking, evaluating, and delivering performance reviews.
- Experience in reporting on key production metrics
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and ERP software
- Excellent communication, team building, interpersonal skill with the ability to build strong business relationships
- Strong decision-making and judgment skills with a results-driven approach
- Demonstrated ability for planning, prioritizing, and organizing
