We are currently seeking a proactive and dynamic Operations Manager for our Transformer Manufacturing division in Oklahoma City.
This role requires someone with experience in Power Generation Manufacturing who can lead with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to drive operational excellence in a vibrant manufacturing environment. The position involves supervising a team of supervisors engaged in the manufacturing and remanufacturing of transformers. The goal is to direct manufacturing activities efficiently to meet our company's standards for safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery.
- Direct and implement operational strategies to achieve division goals.
- Manage and forecast departmental budgets to meet annual financial objectives.
- Oversee employee training and onboarding, ensuring continuous development and alignment with operational needs.
- Set performance expectations and measure team outcomes in safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
- Mentor supervisors and staff, fostering career growth and a collaborative team environment.
- Resolve employee concerns related to roles, performance, and workplace relations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Monitor and manage job costs and materials in collaboration with department supervisors.
- Maintain open communication with the VP/General Manager on key operational updates.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including disciplinary actions and HR coordination.
- Represent the company at industry events to stay informed of technical advancements.
- Provide customer support and operational coverage during weekends or off-hours, as needed.
- Degree from an accredited university or equivalent, with an emphasis on business management.
- Eight to ten years of experience in supervising/managing equipment manufacturing or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior management experience of profit and loss statement, including financial budgeting, is preferred.
- Experience interfacing with some form of formal ERP systems required (preferably in a manufacturing environment).
- Candidates for this position are required to complete a pre-employment drug screen and nationwide criminal background check successfully.
- Willingness to work weekends and/or cover on off shifts as needed.
