GLC Minerals has a rich history dating back 150 years. Established in Green Bay, Wisconsin, this family-owned business has flourished over five generations. Throughout its long existence, GLC Minerals has been instrumental in the growth of Wisconsin’s crop and livestock production, as well as the manufacturing sector. Today, GLC Minerals concentrates on manufacturing high-quality calcium carbonate, dolomitic lime, gypsum, and magnesium products, each formulated to meet specific application needs.
The Operations Manager will oversee all operational functions at Hurlbut Holdings, Inc., including its subsidiaries GLC Integrated Services and GLC Minerals. This includes responsibility for safety, environmental, production, quality, sales and operations planning, inventory management and production cost control.
Near term focus will be on the design, implementation, and leadership of a continuous improvement program with a focus on improving OEE, quality management, and total productive maintenance (TPM). As part of TPM, this role is also tasked with creating a structured onboarding and training program for bargaining union employees.

- Leads the behavioral based safety program to meet and exceed MSHA requirements
- Ensures environmental regulations are met or exceeded by following best practices
- Accountable for managing the production of high-quality products in line with ISO 9001:2015 and SF/SF standards
- Monitors and acts on KPI performance across safety, quality, production, cost, inventory and employee engagement
- Responsible for the continuous improvement program with a focus on improving manufacturing plant OEE, quality management, and total productive maintenance (TPM)
- Ensures operational performance meets customer requirements in quality, responsiveness, and service levels
- Manages costs through plant operation, procurement, overtime, labor and capital improvements
- Collaborates with quality, engineering, and sales on innovation and new product development projects that align with the company’s strategic plan and Industry 4.0/Smart Manufacturing standards
- Assists with creating the annual capital expenditures plan to meet future growth objectives and ROI expectations
- Leads, coaches, and develops operations team to inspire ownership, accountability, and autonomous problem-solving capabilities
- Builds strong relationships with cross functional teams, including customer care, sales and finance
- Embraces GLC GOLD+ core values and company culture to keep businesses running (KBR)- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or related field
- Required minimum of five years of experience managing operations and developing workforces
- Experience leading in a behavior-based safety culture
- Proven ability to successfully manage projects independently
- Lean manufacturing (TPM, 5S, VSM, Kaisan) experience
- Excellent written and communication skills with the ability to facilitate tough conversations
- Strong Microsoft Suite skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Proficiency in preventative maintenance and enterprise systems
- Experience building a LMS platform and SharePoint site preferred
