- Provide engineering and project management expertise for internal and external customers, including planning, design, development, evaluation, implementation, modification, and documentation of projects.
- Lead and coordinate efforts among consultants, management, and site operations; guide stakeholders; and drive successful project outcomes.
- Develop engineering standards, research emerging technologies, and serve as a training resource in areas of expertise.
- Lead full-cycle project execution: create and manage budgets and schedules, oversee contractors and contracts, allocate resources, and ensure successful delivery from inception to completion.
- Manage stakeholder relationships with clients, contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and government agencies while guiding teams and site operations.
- Apply strong engineering and detail oriented practices, including reviewing as built conditions, maintaining punchlists, and ensuring compliance with grid codes, protection coordination, interconnection requirements, environmental permits, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain document control (transmittals, submittals, revisions) and provide on site leadership, supervision, and coordination as needed to support operations and business continuity.- Four years or more related engineering experience PLUS a Professional Engineer license * OR - Fifteen years or more of related engineering experience*
- A master’s degree in engineering may be equivalent for up to one year of related experience.
- This position may be considered for a hybrid work arrangement based on ALLETE’s needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the employee's position will be a blend of work performed both in-person and at an offsite location such as an employee's home office. This position will report to Duluth, MN
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
- This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
- The expected annual compensation range for this position is $91,000 - $114,000. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.
