About Us:
Exo is a dynamic and innovative inspection/engineering firm that specializes in a wide variety of pole and tower infrastructure used in the Electric Utility industry for supporting overhead power lines, and large Retail firms supporting outdoor area lighting systems.
Role Overview:
As a hands-on, motivated student Intern, you will join our team and get a real-world look at the tasks, both technical and administrative, that are required by the Exo Team every day to bring critical value to our Clients. This internship is designed to give you exposure to several key departments, including Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality Control, and Safety. You’ll spend time in each department learning how things get done, supporting the field crews, the operations staff, the engineering and technical staff, and administrative staff, and in general pitching in to bring value to our clients.
What You’ll Do:
•Rotate through 3–5 departments, spending time with supervisors and frontline teams
•Learn inspection fundamentals and the critical importance of proactive asset management.
•Assist with tasks like work order tracking, inspections, inventory checks, and deliverable reporting.
•Observe and follow all safety protocols and learn how workplace and field site safety is managed.
•Work on technical or administrative projects that will bring improvements to our business.
•Participate in daily shift meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
At the end of the internship, you will be asked to present a summary of your experiences and ideas to improve this program.
Departments You May Work With:
•Operations – Work hands-on with our field technicians to experience the project work that Exo is hired to do in the field and better understand the inspection and remediation process, and the back office effort it takes to coordinate the work.
•Maintenance & Inventory – Shadow our warehouse techs performing important equipment inventory and upkeep, and to learn about preventative maintenance and the importance if inventory integrity.
•Engineering – Shadow our team of professional engineers with the intent to gain insight into the engineering behind Exo’s inspection, maintenance and remediation of structural assets.
•Quality Control – Support our technical services team reviewing inspection and testing reports, and documentation.
•Health & Safety – Learn about safety audits, safety risk assessments, and employee training that is necessary to ensure safe work procedures are followed.
What We’re Looking For:
•College students seeking engineering or related technical degree.
•Interest in operations supporting Exo’s technical infrastructure work.
•Willingness to work in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
•Good communication skills and ability to respect and work with people at all levels.
•Dependable, safety-conscious, and eager to learn.
Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, email) are a plus

Physical Requirements:
•Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours/day)
•Comfortable bending, stooping, lifting, reaching, and working in a physically active environment
•Ability to lift and carry up to [30–50 lbs], as needed
•Manual dexterity for handling tools, materials, or equipment
•Comfortable working in various conditions including loud, hot, or cold environments (PPE provided)
•Able to work a desk job requiring long hours of sitting and working on a computer.
•Proficient in using a computer, including typing, using a mouse, and other peripherals.
•Ability to read and analyze documents and computer screens.
•Effective listening skills for communication, both in-person and virtual.
•Capability to maintain focus and productivity in a standard office environment.
