The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing of materials, equipment, and services needed to support company operations. This role will focus on vendor management, cost control, and ensuring the timely delivery of quality materials for engineering projects. The individual will demonstrate strong relationship-building abilities, cross-functional collaboration, analytical thinking, and a high level of professionalism to ensure seamless and efficient procurement processes.
· Source and procure nuclear-grade materials, engineered components, and project services in accordance with technical specifications.
· Prepare, issue, and manage Requests for Quotes (RFQs) and Purchase Orders (POs) using SAP systems.
· Ensure suppliers comply with nuclear and quality standards such as CSA N299, CSA N286, ASME NQA-1, and ISO 9001.
· Verify required documentation, including Material Test Reports (MTRs), Certificates of Conformance (CoC), and traceability records.
· Coordinate with engineering, quality assurance, and project management teams to confirm procurement requirements.
· Maintain accurate procurement records and support internal and external audits.
· Assist in resolving non-conformance reports (NCRs) and supplier corrective actions.
· Travel to project sites and supplier/vendor locations to support inspections, coordination, and project needs.
· Participate in supplier meetings, manage contract administration, and support quality improvements.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
· Experience with ERP or purchasing systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
· Strong document control and record management skills.
· Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability.
· Effective communication skills for working with engineers, quality teams, and suppliers.
· Must have a valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for supplier and site visits.
