Pierce Aluminum is a leading distributor of aluminum and a manufacturer of finished aluminum products. We offer one of the most diverse inventories in the industry, distributing sheets, coils, plates, bars, structural shapes, tubes, pipes, and extrusions in a wide range of alloys and sizes.
This Business Development Representative will focus heavily on newbusiness development, spending approximately 80% of their time prospecting, cold calling, qualifying, and building a pipeline of new accounts. While the role includes supporting and servicing existing customers, the primary responsibility is to identify opportunities, initiate conversations, and convert prospects into long‑term partners.
Success in this role requires mastering Pierce Aluminum’s pricing strategy, understanding customer requirements (size, thickness, alloy, tolerances, etc.), and using strong math and analytical skills to prepare accurate quotations. The ideal candidate is energetic, persistent, curious, and comfortable driving conversations that uncover needs, timelines, and buying criteria.
- Conduct high‑volume outbound prospecting (calls, emails, follow‑ups) to generate new business opportunities—approximately 80% of daily activity
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects across multiple industries
- Create accurate and timely price quotations based on customer specifications
- Enter orders into our DOS‑based system
- Develop strong relationships with both new and existing customers
- Re‑qualify accounts regularly by asking targeted questions (10–12 per call) to understand needs, usage, and buying patterns
- Conduct professional email correspondence with prospects and clients
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive experience throughout the sales cycle
- Collaborate with the sales team to support strategic growth initiatives
- Strong sense of urgency and initiative; thrives in a proactive, outbound sales environment
- Outgoing, energetic, and comfortable engaging new prospects daily
- Excellent qualifying skills; confident asking detailed questions to uncover needs
- Strong customer service and sales skills
- Trainable and eager to learn the technical aspects of aluminum products

- Assertive, friendly, and resilient
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial sales or a similar B2B environment preferred
