NC Plate Burner Operator - Houma, LA

Description

Main Purpose

To nest parts to be cut by the Burning Machines, And to Coordinate Burning activities in the Plate Shop.

Essential Functions

- Nesting Piece Marked Plates form the Lofting Department

- Make sure that all parts are cut from the correct material.

- Make sure that all piece markings are on the corresponding pieces when cut.

- Make sure that daily maintenance records are kept on all NC Burning Machines.

- Make sure that all maintenance is completed on all NC Burning Machines Daily.

- Keeps records of plate inventors.

- Performs Overhead Crane inspections in the Plate Shop.

- Make sure that all cut parts are distributed to the correct job site.

- Lifting: employees must lift 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds.

Job Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred

- Must pass a drug screen

- Must pass a physical

- Must pass a background check

Desirable Experience/Training

- Working knowledge of the practices and procedures of Cutting Machines and Computer Knowledge

- Floor Jack

- Hand torch

- Grinder

- Tape Measure

- Straight Edge

- Square

- Forklift experience a plus

Environmental Conditions

80 to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions, dust, mud, etc.
