Operate and set up cold heading equipment across One Die Two Blow through Four die 4 Blow platforms to produce complex fasteners efficiently and to spec.
- $25–$35 per hour
- Monday–Friday, 1:30pm–10:30pm with potential overtime
- Monitor materials, equipment indicators, and environmental signals to spot issues early.
- Collect and interpret information from all relevant sources to keep processes stable.
- Partner with the Supervisor to review operations and resolve production/process problems.
- Inspect machines, structures, and materials to identify causes of defects and errors.
- Tune machine settings — speeds, pressures, temperatures, dimensions, and material flow — for optimal output.
- Start and control machinery via panels and control buttons.
- Verify product conformance using Calipers, Micrometers, and a Length Gage; document results.
- Watch gauges and lights to detect malfunctions; intervene promptly.
- Clear jams safely; remove and segregate defective or substandard parts.
- Use Root Cause Analysis (RCA) techniques to identify and eliminate true sources of problems.
- 3–7 years of experience in cold heading with proven set-up ability; fastener industry experience preferred.
- Strong communicator (verbal, written, email, and phone); steady and calm under pressure.
- Skilled at prioritizing, organizing, and executing tasks efficiently.
- Working knowledge of IATF 16949.
- Able to shift quickly between tasks with minimal errors or omissions.
- Deductive reasoning: apply general rules to solve specific technical problems.
- Demonstrated capability to adjust machine components to meet process requirements.
- Basic heading equipment maintenance knowledge.
- Comfortable reading Calipers, Micrometers, and Blue Prints.
- Strict adherence to OSHA and company safety guidelines.
Multi-die headers allow complex parts to be formed in one pass, overcoming diameter ratio reduction limits — a key advantage in fastener manufacturing.
