About Island Gold District:

Alamos Gold’s Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. With the two mines within the district, Island Gold and Magino employ over 900 team members who work in the underground and open pit operations and are located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa. Role Overview/Purpose

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Mill Maintenance Superintendent ensures the good maintenance practices of the team under his / her supervision in terms of the preventive, corrective maintenance, as well as playing a key role in the execution and follow up of the performed maintenance duties.

Primary Responsibilities

- Ensure that all personnel work in compliance with all other applicable regulations and permits, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, company policies and procedures

- Visibly lead the participation of all personnel in the Internal Responsibility System

- Identification and timely control of health, safety, environmental, and production risks

- Timely investigation of incidents, near-miss incidents, and plan variances, with recommendations for improvement

- Achievement of weekly, monthly, and quarterly mill performance targets

- Mill operations and maintenance planning and coordination, including shutdowns and collaboration across the site

- Contribute to the development of department budgets and forecasts

- Training and development of mill operations and maintenance personnel, including performance management and succession planning

- Seek opportunities to reduce risks and increase efficiencies, with recommendations for short- and long-term improvement projects

- Acting Mill Superintendent, when assigned

- Other duties as required

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications And Experience

- Journeyman/woman trade certification in a relevant trade (required).

- 5-10 years of mining specific maintenance experience.

- Three years as supervisor.

- Prompt daily attendance at assigned schedule.

- Computer proficiency, specifically in Microsoft Office and SAP

- Good Communication skills

- Possess and demonstrate sound Leadership abilities and integrity

- Ability to work well under pressure, while maintaining effectiveness and self-control.

- Demonstrate ability to balance priorities that meet short and long-term objectives; use organized and efficient work methods.

- Cooperating and collaborating with others and working toward consensual solutions to achieve the group’s effectiveness.

- Work focused on customer satisfaction.

- Demonstrated leadership abilities.

- Ability to deal with and manage personnel conflicts
