Mechanical Operations Coordinator – Full‑Time (40 hrs/week) Term: Full Time Location: Peace River, AB Schedule: Monday–Friday (8-5)

Background:

Peace River Logging LP is currently looking for a Mechanical Operations Coordinator who plays a key role in supporting the company’s overall operations with a primary focus on procurement, including shop and camp procurement needs. The Mechanical Operations Coordinator reports to the Senior Operations Superintendent, and works closely with all Mechanics, ensuring smooth coordination between operations, procurement, and administration. This role includes an administrative component in conjunction with working day to day in operations within field, yard, and shop environments. We are looking for an experienced individual who is comfortable working in outdoor winter conditions, takes initiative, is motivated, and approaches work with an entrepreneurial spirit.

What you’ll do

- Support management and mechanics with coordination of project-based procurement planning and inventory management

- Source and purchase goods, services, and equipment required according to company standards.

- Assist with continuous improvement of company procurement methods and practices, as well as inventory, fleet and related data management systems.

- Liaise between operations, logistics, and administration.

What you bring

- 2-5 years experience in a purchasing, parts technician or inventory management role

- Post secondary education in a related field is preferred

- Clean Driver’s Abstract

- Class 5 Driver’s Licence with minimum 3 years driving experience

- Strong negotiation and communication skills

- Attention to detail and organizational ability

- Proficient in SharePoint, Excel, and other software applications

- Analytical and problem-solving mindset

- Understanding of supply chain and procurement processes

- Understanding of working with machines and mechanical systems

- Knowledge of contracts and basic legal procurement terms

- Able to work efficiently as part of a team and individually, as needed

- Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
