The Process Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Specialist is a self-motivated professional and key member of a multidisciplinary team responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of cryogenic processing facilities. This includes the operation and maintenance of cryogenic separation units, refrigeration systems, heat exchangers, compressors, pumps, associated mechanical equipment, instrumentation and controls.
Primary responsibilities include real-time monitoring, system troubleshooting, performance optimization, maintenance, and repair of all critical cryogenic and mechanical systems. The O&M Specialist plays a vital role in executing predictive and preventive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime, ensure system integrity, implementing and driving new best practices, and maintain compliance with safety and environmental standards.

- Maintains all pumps, compressors, gas turbines, motors, vessels, utilities, piping, tanks, liquid loading systems, etc.
- Troubleshoots and repairs equipment including compressors, turbines, pumps, and other mechanical equipment associated with the plant.
- Strives to maintain overall plant reliability to meet daily contractual recoveries along with NGL and residue gas nominations.
- Performs daily plant operations and maintenance tasks including monitoring cryogenic separation units, compressors, heat exchangers, and refrigeration systems. Records operational data and equipment readings, conducts routine inspections for visual defects and system performance, performs safety checks on high-pressure cryogenic and hydrocarbon systems, ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations across plant facilities and equipment.
- Perform and monitor other plant maintenance as required, such as valve maintenance, fin-fan cooler maintenance, PSV/PRV maintenance, and pump/motor maintenance. Preventative maintenance on all compression, motors, and pumps as needed. Responding to operator’s needs or request.
- Maintains a clean facility and strives for the highest levels of environmental and safety compliance.
- Utilizes a maintenance management system to schedule maintenance and record maintenance data and informs the team of potential problems and failures in a timely manner.
- Monitors and assist new plant operators in operator development.
- Works with the maintenance team to expeditiously resolve problems and improve plant reliability and safety.
- Performs all duties applying safety procedures and adhering to regulatory standards.
- Maintains compliance with permits including documentation.
- Maintains working knowledge of regulatory requirements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Expert level maintenance and troubleshooting of plant mechanical systems.
- Ability to diagnose and repair equipment including cryogenic separation units, compressors, heat exchangers, refrigeration systems, pumps, and any other mechanical equipment associated with the plant.
- Ability to use a variety of tools and test equipment, including but not limited to, analog and digital multi-meters, pressure and temperature calibrators, vibration analyzers, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of liquid and gas plant operation systems.
- General knowledge of compressor and measurement operations.
- Strong maintenance diagnostic skills for mechanical equipment and control systems.
Ability to use a variety of tools and test equipment.
- Proficient with computers and productivity software including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of applicable government regulations, including PSM, ANSI 31.3, TCEQ, DOT Part 192, DOT Part 195, EPA, OSHA, NEC, and related technical and safety codes.
- Valid driver's license
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience
