You'll be part of our team working on mining and metal projects across Canada and will play a key role in all phases of engineering projects, ensuring exceptional technical quality of deliverables. You’ll also visit sites occasionally and identify and develop new business opportunities as they arise. Finally, you’ll serve as a mentor to our young engineers to help support continued team growth.

- Lead and participate in project design studies
- Lead and participate in preparing plans and specifications and perform detailed engineering based on guidelines for mandates involving heavy machinery, conveyors, pump systems, crushers and metallurgical processes
- Supervise or carry out design calculations and ensure that plans meet guidelines as well as legal and regulatory requirements
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients to define their needs
- Present technical information, concepts or study results
- Verify and produce files for tenders, specifications and other technical documents
- Assign and review the work of junior engineers (engineers-in-training), technicians and drafters assigned to projects and assess technical scope
- Ensure that work complies with budgets, schedules, estimates and established procedures
- Assist more experienced personnel with the technical aspects of complex tasks
- Perform technical information statements
- Occasionally supervise contractors on site
- Be a key team member in delivering small to major modernization projects or new installations

- University degree in mechanical engineering
- From 8 to 15 years of relevant experience
- Must be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or a registered P.Eng. in another Canadian province
- Driver’s licence
- Available to travel occasionally between the Mont-Saint-Hilaire and Montréal offices or regional offices
- Available for short-term (mandatory) and long-term (asset) assignments at client offices or sites in Québec and elsewhere in Canada
- ASP Construction card
- Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects
- Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
- Asset: knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks and SmartPlant applications
