We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Commissioning Technician to support mechanical systems commissioning, testing, and startup on a large-scale LNG facility in the Gulf Coast region. This role involves hands-on work with rotating and static equipment, piping systems, valves, and other mechanical components critical to LNG production and export operations.
· Reports to the Mechanical Senior tech for planning and execution management support.
· Carries out commissioning execution work as directed by Mechanical Senior tech.
· Communicates with the Commissioning Mechanical Senior tech for technical support.
· Be able to use all test equipment associated with all Mechanical field commissioning.
· Responsible for ensuring all machinery and mechanical systems operate efficiently and safely.
· Responsible for completion of commissioning B check sheet type ITRs in a technical and legible manner.
· Perform routine maintenance on various mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, engines etc.
· Trouble shoot mechanical issues or malfunction of mechanical equipment.
· Carry out valve line ups based on marked up P&IDs
· Commission pumps, compressors and other rotating machinery.
· Complete vibration, sound and temperature testing of machinery.
· Calibrate and adjust mechanical systems to meet specific performance standards and requirements.
· Responsible for escorting and providing mechanical field support for commissioning vendors as required .
· Practical knowledge of accessing the systems completion database.
· Responsible for field verification of punch list completion and signing off in systems completion database as required.
· Ability to carry out practical verification of systems completion database against engineering drawings and databases.
· Have a good understanding of mechanical Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) isolation procedures and Permit to Work (PTW) systems .
· Liaise with other commissioning disciplines to complete dynamic commissioning and start-up.
· Capable of reading and understanding all relevant Process & Mechanical Documentation
· Produce as-built Process & Mechanical documentation / drawings.
· Technician certified, preferably with college technical diploma and minimum 5+ years of relevant and Commissioning experience.
· Established track record in frontline technician Commissioning, Start Up and initial plant operations.
· Proven strong technical skills in discipline subject matter.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively.
· Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.
· Work is conducted on-site at an LNG facility in hot, humid, and outdoor Gulf Coast environments.
· May involve working at heights, in confined spaces, or during extended hours or rotating shifts.
· PPE required at all times; compliance with site safety and environmental standards is mandatory.
