•We are seeking several experienced Instrumentation Commissioning Technicians to support the safe and efficient commissioning of oil and gas facilities in Northern Alberta. This role is critical to ensuring that all instrumentation and control systems are fully functional, calibrated, and integrated prior to startup.
Key Responsibilities:
•Commission, calibrate, loop check, and verify instrumentation systems (pressure, level, temperature, flow, analytical, etc.)
•Perform functional testing and assist with system turnovers and documentation
•Work closely with Commissioning and operations teams to ensure systems meet design and performance specifications
•Interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, and commissioning work packs
•Troubleshoot and resolve issues during the commissioning phase
•Maintain accurate records of testing and commissioning activities
•Work under LOTO / PTW with a high degree of diligence
Requirements:
•Journeyman Instrumentation & Control Technician (Red Seal)
•10 + years commissioning experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial settings
•Strong working knowledge of PLCs, DCS systems, SIS, SCADA, and field instrumentation, Delta V, Yokogawa, ABB etc
•Familiar with commissioning procedures, pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR’s), and punch list management
•Valid driver’s license and up-to-date safety certifications (e.g., H2S Alive, CSTS, WHMIS)
•Able to work in remote site locations on rotational shifts
