We are looking for an IT/Cybersecurity student to join the ATCO Architecture Team. Work term starts in May 2026 for 8 or 12-month period in Edmonton.
The CO-OP Student will support the Architecture Team in improving documentation quality and streamlining architecture processes. This role offers hands-on experience in enterprise architecture practices, governance, and process optimization, aligning with academic learning and professional development.
Who you are:
- Must be enrolled in a co-op (or internship) program at a recognized Canadian university.
- Currently enrolled in a related field (Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
- Experience with Sharepoint, PowerBI and Office Suite would be an asset.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite; exposure to diagramming tools (e.g., Visio, Powerpoint) is an asset.
- Interest in enterprise architecture concepts and IT governance.

- Assist in creating and updating architecture artifacts such as blueprints, solution diagrams, and decision logs.
- Organize and maintain architecture repositories to ensure accessibility and compliance with standards.
- Review existing documentation for accuracy and completeness, proposing improvements where needed.
- Process Improvement
- Analyze current architecture processes and identify opportunities for efficiency and standardization.
- Support the development of templates, guidelines, and best practices for architecture deliverables.
- Collaborate with architects to document workflows and governance steps.
- Conduct research on emerging architecture tools and methodologies.
- Benchmark internal practices against industry standards and provide recommendations.
- Participate in architecture working group meetings and contribute to discussions.
- Work closely with Solution Architects, Data Architects, and other stakeholders to gather inputs for documentation.
