Materials Controller

Summary:

The purpose of this position is to identify project material demand, evaluate supply vs. demand, and initiate material requirements planning for pipe fabrication projects.

Responsibilities:

- Create material requisitions for assigned projects.

- Perform material take-offs from isometrics.

- Analyze shortage and excess reports.

- Manage material requirements for production and construction.

- Support the Accounts Payable Department on billing Issues.

- Oversee on-hand inventory for assigned projects.

- Prepare work orders/pick tickets for production and construction.

- Generate material receiving reports.

- Issue materials into the system.

- Create packing lists for ship-loose material and intercompany/site transfers.

Education and Experience:

- Required:

High School diploma or equivalent.

- Preferred:

Associate or bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.

- Pipe fabrication experience.

- Read and understand descriptions and specifications in pipe and steel Isometrics and verify against material lists in the system for accuracy.

- Microsoft Suite (Microsoft Excel emphasis).

- Oracle JDE experience is a plus.

- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to reach, stand, walk, use fingers, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see and to perform repetitive motions.

- Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
