Position Title: Materials Manager
Location: Green River, WY
Key Responsibilities:
- Workforce safety, leadership, and supervision
- Employee development and performance management
- Coordinate area resources and staffing requirements
- Ensuring employees develop the skills and capabilities to meet business needs.
- Communicate business information and activities to department employees
- Prioritize work and projects to align with business priorities and resource constraints.
- Safety leadership and MSHA compliance
- Support Responsible Care program
- Manage daily warehouse operations across multiple locations, including receiving, storage, issuing, and material handling.
- Ensure standardization and alignment of processes across warehouse locations
- Operational performance and efficiency
- Provide support for Granger Stores utilization and ongoing operations
- Manage the Stores equipment fleet
- Interface with outside vendors to support warehouse operations, service levels, and equipment needs.
- Inventory management, accuracy, and control
- Oversee inventory replenishment strategy, ensuring appropriate governance, approvals, and master data quality in the ERP system.
- Lead inventory accuracy, governance, and lifecycle management, including ABC classification, cycle counting, and obsolescence mitigation.
- Research and resolve stores account variances
- Ensure integrity, governance, and optimization of warehouse systems (ERP, inventory management systems, scanning, and automation tools)
- Budget and resource management
- Compile, manage, and track the department budget.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and financial governance related to inventory valuation and working capital
- Balance Stores inventory strategy with working capital strategy
- Drive continuous improvement and operational accountability
- Develop and implement warehouse strategy, including layout optimization, storage improvements, and material flow efficiency
- Facilitate problem solving and improvements
- Establish, monitor, and report warehouse KPIs, driving action plans to address gaps
- Cross-functional coordination and support
- Communicate and collaborate across department functions (e.g., Procurement, Maintenance, Operations).
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive warehouse, materials management, or supply chain experience in an industrial, mining, or manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience, preferably including supervision of supervisors and a union workforce
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or professional certification preferred
